Can someone tell me slowly and simply how to help? I can't believe Finale, even it's PrintMusic edition, could be so limited. If I try to add the quarter note D under the G, it instead gives the whole chord a quarter note value. After I put the whole note G, I can't add any more notes of other values to the measure. When I use Simple Entry, I get no further. After I play that F (in my example), the G that I am playing as a whole note gets notated as a quarter note and then cut off. When I use HyperScribe, Finale doesn't recognize that notes could be sustained after other notes are played. I don't want to see four quarter note Gs all tied: it's messy and takes more brain cells to read on the fly I want one whole note G. I want a whole note G, with consecutive quarter notes under it D - F - E - C. A simple example: to play Csus2 - Csus4 - C. I need to have notes of different values played simultaneously-ie a sustained whole note with quarter notes moving under it, played by the same hand. I'm using Finale PrintMusic 2007 to make sheet music for piano.
